Unfortunately, both are pretty outdated. They reference Ubuntu 14 as the latest version \ud83d\ude41 . Even worse, the application depends on some Qt4 packages which are no longer available in a current Ubuntu\/Mint installation. After digging around the internet I found help in the UbuntuHandbook on how to <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ubuntuhandbook.org\/index.php\/2020\/07\/install-qt4-ubuntu-20-04\/\" target=\"_blank\">install the missing Qt4 libraries<\/a> and I was able to successfully install SpectraView II and calibrate my Monitor NEC MultiSync PA32 with the colorimeter X-Rite i1Display Pro on Linux Mint 20.2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"564\" src=\"https:\/\/www.speich.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/spectraview2-1-1024x564.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2025\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.speich.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/spectraview2-1-1024x564.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.speich.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/spectraview2-1-300x165.png 300w, https:\/\/www.speich.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/spectraview2-1-1536x846.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.speich.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/spectraview2-1-2048x1128.png 2048w, https:\/\/www.speich.net\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/spectraview2-1-1568x864.png 1568w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption>Linux Mint 20 running SpectraView II with a X-Rite i1Display Pro connected via USB<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>So, here are the compiled instructions (follow at your own risk):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-code\"><code class=\"language-bash\"># add repository to get Qt4 libraries\nsudo add-apt-repository ppa:rock-core\/qt4\n# install missing dependencies\nsudo apt update\nsudo apt install libqtgui4\n# download and extract SpectraView from above link. Then move it to a folder of your choice, e.g. \/opt\/SpectraView. Make sure the necessary files have execute permissions set.\n# follow instructions in the NEC guide depending on your colorimeter, in my case a X-Rite i1 Display Pro (V3):\nsudo cp \u2013r \"libraries to install\/i1d3\" \/usr\/lib\nsudo ldconfig \/usr\/lib\/i1d3\n# create permanent link to libraries\n# add \/usr\/lib\/i1d3\nsudo xed \/etc\/ld.so.conf.d\/i1d.conf\nsudo cp \"55-NEC.rules\" \"\/lib\/udev\/rules.d\"\nsudo udevadm control --reload-rules\n# check that all dependencies are met\ncd BUILD_B\nldd SpectraView\nldd cmdlineddclite\nldd i1d3\n# configure display communication\nsudo modprobe i2c-dev\n.\/cmdlineddclite\n# create a link in the start menu to \/opt\/SpectraView\/BUILD_B\/SpectraView<\/code><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>I also contacted the sharpnec support about this and got the following answer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>Unfortunately we are not planning any further updates for the Linux OS.
