Footwear for the jungle

When planing my trip to Guayana I was wondering what kind of shoes to bring in addition to my Teva Sandals. After reading through numerous blog posts and watching some videos including the excellent one by junglecrafty on Jungle Boots, I decided to buy OTB’s JungleLite Boots.

OTB’s JungeLite Boots are very light and comfortable.

These shoes are incredibly light. Each boot weights only 0.5kg! They are sturdy, breathable and don’t get mildewy due to being all synthetic. Also the water drains through holes on the side and lets the shoe dry quickly. After wearing them for a month I can only recommend them.

Wrapping a pant leg around the rubber band helps preventing insects from crawling up inside your pants.

Little tip: Instead of tucking your pants into the shoes to prevent ticks and alike to crawl up your pant leg on the inside, tie a rubber band around the boot and then wrap the pant leg around it as shown in the two photos.
