Visited by a roe deer

Over the New Year, I’ve spent a couple of days in my vacation home in the canton Vaud. During one night, we got quite a bit of fresh snow and the next evening my wife discovered this roe deer in our orchard. He was probably looking for apples.

The European roe deer (Capreolus capreolus) is a shy fellow, and normally I get to see it only from far or when it’s running away, no chance to take photos. But this guy didn’t notice me so I was able to take some shots.

More mammal photos can be found in my photo database.

The same day I also took some photos of the forest below our chalet showing some nice patterns perfect for conversion to Black and White.

On the next day, my wife and I went for a hike to Solalex, where we enjoyed a hot drink. As often I brought my camera along since you never know.
